Craig Finn and Patterson Hood have announced a new series of collaborative performances this summer. From July 9-21, the storied frontmen for The Hold Steady and Drive By Truckers will revive their Devils in the Details tour format from last year for ten shows in Minnesota and along the East Coast. As with last time, they’ll perform onstage together, alternating songs from their respective catalogs with support from Ben Hackett on keyboards and woodwinds.

Finn and Hood’s shared dates will begin in Minneapolis, then move to the State Theatre in State College, Pa. on July 11. The duo will hit Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on the following evening, then move on to Hamden, Conn., Rockport, Mass. and Worcester, Mass. from July 14-16. The last lap of their tour will take them through upstate New York with performances in Albany, Tarrytown and Homer preceding a finale at Bellmore, N.Y.’s Bellmore Theater on July 21.

“I’ve been friends with Patterson Hood for almost twenty years now, and we’ve done a lot of cool things together,” Finn detailed in an Instagram post. “But possibly my favorite adventure with Patterson was the ‘Devils in the Details’ tour that we did from Seattle to Texas in November 2025. This tour featured us trading songs, onstage together at the same time, and accompanied by amazing multi-instrumentalist Ben Hackett. The shows were loose, fun, musical, and truly special.

“Now, I’m very excited to announce that we’re doing it all again in July 2026 in the Twin Cities and on the East Coast,” Finn continued. “These are guaranteed to be a great time, and I’m so excited to be playing in this format again. I might even bust out some new songs for the occasion. These will make for sublime summer evenings, and I hope you’ll join us.”

Hood echoed his collaborators’ sentiments in a post of his own: “Some things are too much fun to only do once. I’m thrilled to announce that I am going out on tour again with my dear friend Craig Finn. Another leg of The Devil’s in the Details Tour beginning July 9 in St. Paul, MN at the Fitzgerald Theatre. Craig and I will once again be accompanied by Ben Hackett, who will be playing keyboards and woodwinds (and backing vocals) with both of us. We will all be playing together, taking turns telling stories and singing songs, just like last fall.”
