On Friday night, Greensky Bluegrass took the stage at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. The quintet closed out the main stage and was joined by some notable musicians during their 90 minute set.
After opening with a cover of ” How Mountain Girls Can Love,” the band charged into four of its originals, delivering spirited takes on “Windshield,” “Living Over,” “Monument” and “Courage for the Road.”
Then longtime collaborator Sam Bush stepped out and appeared with the group on fiddle for covers of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain” as well as Greensky original “Old Barns.”
Bush then departed as the quintet moved into original “What You Need” before Jason Carter and Michael Cleveland added fiddle to a set-closing version of the band’s “Kerosene.”
When Greensky returned for an encore, it had three fiddle players in tow for “My Love Will Not Change,” the Shawn Camp/Billy Burnette tune long associated with the Del McCoury Band.
Greensky Bluegrass is off the road until picking things up again in July.
