Tedeschi Trucks Band kicked off their 2020 tour dates in the Allman Brothers’ hometown of Macon, Ga. on Wednesday night, jamming with their pal Charlie Starr, busting out Fred Neil’s “Everybody’s Talkin'” and debuting live versions of their own “Hear Me” and Funkadelic’s “Good To Your Earhole.”

“Everybody’s Talkin'” started off the festivities, marking the band’s first time playing the cover since November 2012.

Later, TTB offered the live debut of their Let Me Get By cut “Hear Me,” and eventually served up a massive “Shame” jam that segued in and out of the Allman Brothers’ “Whipping Post,” nodding to the ABB’s history in the Georgia city.

After fan favorite “Midnight in Harlem,” Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr emerged from the wings for a version of Leon Russell’s “Stranger In A Strange Land” (earlier, Starr played an opening acoustic duo set with longtime Blackberry Smoke collaborator Benji Shanks) and TTB closed the set with a pairing of “Key To The Highway” and “Made Up Mind.”

Tedeschi Trucks Band encored with their first-ever version of Funkadelic’s Let’s Take It To The Stage cut “Good To Your Earhole” before wrapping up their first show of 2020 with “Bound For Glory.”
