Jeff Tweedy’s solo touring ambitions will broaden this fall. The lyrical virtuoso has announced a new series of live appearances to mark the first anniversary of his fifth solo output, Twilight Override, the expansive three-disc set that lingers on the gloaming shift from light to dark, delineating the nuances of aging.

The new slate of dates picks up on Tuesday, October 20, at The Acorn in Three Oaks, Mich., and continues the next night in Kent, Ohio. Next, Tweedy will bring his song selections to the RIT Performing Arts Center in Rochester, N.Y., on Oct. 23, followed by an evening on stage in Ithaca, N.Y., ahead of Oct. 26-27 at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, N.Y.

Ensuing appearances will account for a concert at Town Hall in New York City on Oct. 28, before arriving at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington, Mass., on Oct. 30.  Halloween, Oct. 31, will bring Tweedy with special guest and future daughter-in-law Case Oats to Groton Hill Music Center in Groton, Mass.

Tweedy’s final slate of fall solo shows accounts for a final Northeastern date in Providence, R.I., before an influx of Midwest concerts, beginning Nov. 6 at The Tarkington in Carmel, Ind., prior to a Nov. 7 gig at the Capitol Theatre in Davenport, Iowa.

Following the release of Twilight Override, Tweedy spoke to Relix about his latest studio effort, telling us: “This record facilitates a secret club, which flies in the face and is defiant of the current momentum of shorter, more surface-level listening.”

He continues, “The length has an element of intention. I don’t want to be a gatekeeper of my art. Still, I think there is a built-in barrier to a long record where I know only a certain type of listener is going to spend the time listening to the whole thing in one sitting, the way it was created to be listened to.”
