After facing resistance in the ’60s, pioneering quartet Ace of Cups – who were regulars in the Bay-Area scene and counted the Grateful Dead as friends – finally released their eponymous debut album in 2018.

On Tuesday, Feb. 26, four members of band’s original lineup of Denise Kaufman (harmonica/vocals), Mary Gannon (bass/ vocals), Mary Ellen Simpson (lead guitar/vocals) and Diane Vitalich (drums/vocals) will lead “An Evening of Stories and Songs” at New York City’s Mercury Lounge.

Featured panelists for the Q&A portion of the evening include Rolling Stone senior editor David Fricke, Patti Smith Group guitarist Lenny Kaye, Sirius XM host Gary Lambert, author and Grateful Dead affiliate Rhoney Stanley, Relix contributing editor Jesse Jarnow and Relix assistant editor Raffaela Kenny-Cincotta.
