Alanis Morissette recently channeled her inner John Lennon, covering the Beatle’s beloved holiday tune “Happy Xmas (War Is Over).”
Needless to say, it’s a poignant tune for the 2020 holiday season as COVID-19, political strife and societal conflict remain at the forefront of so many people’s minds and continue to hinder their ability to be with the ones they love.
“Alanis, her family, her bandmates and their families wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,” read’s the title card for the song’s music video, which also pulls imagery from Lennon and Yoko Ono’s famous Bed-ins for Peace protests.
