After the successful first run of Jerry Garcia’s 80th birthday celebration at Yankee Stadium, the New York Yankees and the Jerry Garcia Family have tacked on an additional day at the ballpark in honor of the Grateful Dead luminary’s Aug. 1 birthday. The newly added date is set for Monday, Sept. 5, and has been deemed Jerry Garcia “Second Set.”
In continuation of Garcia’s birthday celebration, fans will see the New York Yankees return to their home field to take on the Minnesota Twins on Sept. 5. The recently added event will once more provide the first 1,500 fans the opportunity to receive an exclusive Garcia bobblehead with their ticket purchase.
Moreover, a portion of each ticket sale will support the Rex Foundation, which “aims to help secure a healthy environment, promote individuality in the arts, provide support to critical and necessary social services, assist others less fortunate than ourselves, protect the rights of indigenous people and ensure their cultural survival, build a stronger community, and educate children and adults everywhere.”
Tickets for Jerry Garcia “Second Set” – Minnesota Twins vs. New York Yankees are on sale now and can be purchased here.
