Last night, Billy Strings headlined Wilkes-Barre, PA’s Mohegan Sun Arena. During the jamgrass virtuoso’s second, set he brought out ukulele wiz Jake Shimabukuro for a duo take on “Smokin’ Strings,” a tune the players recorded for the new collaborative album Jake & Friends. Shimabukuro then remained onstage as the rest of Strings’ ensemble returned and the five musicians ran through “Nothing’s Working,” John Hartford’s “All Fall Down,” Pearl Jam’s “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” and a set-closing cover of New Grass Revival’s “This Heart of Mine.”

Strings’ tour will continue at Detroit, MI’s The Fillmore this evening.
