Mikaela Davis & Southern Star performed ethereal covers of Grateful Dead classics at the Relix Studio. The performance was recorded and filmed on Aug. 3, 2021.
The collective quintet opened the batch of their Grateful Dead favorites with “Mountains on the Moon,” immediately proving, without a shadow of a doubt, their mastery and familiarity of the songs. Mikaela Davis’ angelic vocals and harp playing melted together with the space and vibrations provided by Southern Star. They continued to create a transcendent cadence as they moved from “Dark Star” to “Wharf Rat.”
As they approached the close of their 42-minute set and “St. Stephen” was in full swing, it was apparent this performance was channeling the very spirit of a special kind of music.
This performance was a part of the Rex Foundation’s Daze Between benefit, which continues their mission of “extensive community support to creative endeavors in the arts, sciences, and education.”
Mikaela Davis & Southern Star played at the Westville Music Bowl for the benefit of the Rex Foundation on Aug. 8.

August 16, 2021 at 6:42 amTHE BASS PLAYER NEEDS TO TAKE A LIE DETECTOR TEST PROVING HE DID AND DOES NOT MOLEST CHILDREN. Americans should NOT be told what to do with they bodies BY PEDOPHILES. Same goes for anyone else pointing the fingo…yer mad that yer kids might die because yer kids are yer FUCK BUDDIES. I’d post this on the Phish Covid announcement but Jambands silenced the comments section. So ev time a phish headline pops up, SO WILL THIS REMINDER = NO PEDOPHILES IS A GOOD THING, RIGHT???????? Will keep Covid down too, if pedos know they will FINALLY be held accountable

August 9, 2021 at 7:22 pmOne of the best interpatations of Grateful Dead music I’ve heard in a long time.
The harp and pedal steel combo is a win-win.
Mikalea’s voice is magical and the whole group is very talented.
Highly recommend watching this
