Arlo Guthrie will make himself available for special person-to-person greetings this holiday season. He will use Cameo as the platform for the virtual gatherings.

“With the holidays rapidly approaching, and still isolated at home, I thought I’d make myself available to everyone interested (for about the price of 2 tix to the gigs we were doing), for person to person greetings,” he said in a statement on his socials. “The link to Cameo (which is the platform for this) is as follows. If you’re up for it great! If not, no worries! I’ll still be here every so often as usual.”

Ever since he released his 1967 epic “Alice’s Restaurant Massacree,” Guthrie has been associated with Thanksgiving. For many years, he celebrated the holiday with a big show at New York’s Carnegie Hall, though the folk singer brought that tradition to a close last year. Like most of the live-music world, Guthrie cancelled most of his 2020 touring plans and, earlier this fall, he officially announced that he has retired from touring after suffering “mini-strokes” in 2016.

In a note, Guthrie said, “I’m happy, healthy and good to go, even if I’m not going anywhere. I’ve taken back 6-9 months that I used to spend on the road, and enjoying myself with Marti, my family and friends. In short – Gone Fishing.”

For his personal greetings, Guthrie encourages fans to be “as specific as possible.” The singer/guitarist says that he plans to do occasional virtual performances while he socially distances at home.
