Boca Raton club The Funky Biscuit will close its doors on Sept. 1 “for the foreseeable future.”
Like many independent venues, The Funky Biscuit struggled amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, and despite reopening in May, they’ve decided to halt their business for the time being.
“We are very proud of not only what we have accomplished over the last 9 years, but also what we have done safely and responsibly over the last 5 months in the face of a global pandemic,” writes founder/CEO Albert Poliak. “We fought the good fight and now it’s time for us to rest. This is not the end of our story…just a new season!”
In the meantime, artists, business owners and government officials continue to push the Save Our Stages Act, which intends to give a financial boost to struggling venues.

Dear Funky Biscuit Patrons
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce that as of September 1st, we will be closing our doors until further notice. Monday August 31st, will be our last waltz for the foreseeable future.
We are very proud of not only what we have accomplished over the last 9 years, but also what we have done safely and responsibly over the last 5 months in the face of a global pandemic.
We fought the good fight and now it’s time for us to rest. This is not the end of our story…just a new season!
We wish you all love & peace and look forward to seeing you again soon at The Funky Biscuit! ❤️
Albert Poliak

August 28, 2020 at 4:06 pmthey refused to answer any message regarding refund of canceled shows. Karma is what you get.
Tickets purchased thru Evenbrite. Show was completely deleted from Eventbrite and unable to refund. Evenbrite says to contact venue. Paypal say no refund as purchase was delivered.
their page has several people that also got no response and out money.

August 24, 2020 at 4:40 pmWe’ve seen probably well over a hundred shows at the Biscuit. Al Poliak is a true mensch.
I remember one sold out show, they were packed wall to wall…..Al saw me standing outside and told me he was sorry that I couldn’t get in (while ribbing me about not getting tickets sooner). I introduced him to some friends who were in town just for the night.
He came back out a few minutes later and told us, “follow me”…and he led us into the club where he had a few staff members make a small table and chairs appear from nowhere right next to the stage.
I think that was my Goodfellas moment.
We look forward to seeing what Al is going to come up with next and wish him the best of luck.
