In the wake of the 2019 passing of both Art Neville and Dr. John, the city of New Orleans will celebrate their legacy both in the Jazz Fest fairgrounds with official memorial sets and out, with the May 1 “Poppa Funk and The Night Tripper” set at One Eyed Jacks.
The two-tiered tribute will include NOLA titans like John Cleary and George Porter Jr., who both collaborated with Neville and Dr. John.
Also present will be Ian Neville, Tony Hall and Ivan Neville of Dumpstaphunk as well as Nikki Glaspie of the Nth Power and a stellar brass section of Big Sam and Skerik.
