Tonight, May 17, at Las Vegas’ The Sand Dollar Downtown, DJ Logic will perform the first of two special aftershows for Dead & Company’s first weekend of shows at Sphere. This highly-anticipated emergent tradition–following a triumphant pair accompanying Phish’s Sphere dates–will also serve as the kick-off for his jam-packed 42-show summer tour. On top of a series of star-studded group performances as DJ Logic & Friends through June, the mixmaster’s summer also features of handful of solo festival sets and support appearances for O.A.R. at a litany of high-profile venues across the country.
The Dead & Company aftershow performances will feature DJ Logic’s signature cast of high-profile collaborators, this time tapping the iconic Eric Krasno of Soulive, keyboardist Aron Magner of The Disco Biscuits, bassist Reed Mathis of Billy & The Kids and drummer Ben Atkind, who now leads Elephant Proof after parting ways with Goose.
Following two back-to-back evenings in Las Vegas and a solo performance at the inaugural Solshine: a Music & Arts Reverie on May 26, the champion turntablist will head to the Southeast for a new set of DJ Logic & Friends dates from June 6-8. On this three-night run through the Carolinas, the artist will be joined by Disco Biscuits frontman Marc Brownstein, Papadosio vocalist and keyboardist Sam Brouse, Snarky Puppy composer and multi-instrumentalist Chris Bullock, Ween drummer Claude Coleman and Runaway Gin guitarist and vocalist Andy Greenberg.
Next, DJ Logic & Friends will race up the coast for a Northeast trio, beginning with a performance at Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, N.Y. on June 21. For this latter series, the bandleader’s ensemble will feature a return from Magner, who will perform alongside percussionist Cyro Baptista of the Trey Anastasio Band, drummer Mike Greenfield of Lotus and bassist Felix Pastorius of Hipster Assassins. This heavyweight jam collective will continue on to a Bridgeport, Conn. engagement on June 22 before capping off the DJ Logic & Friends run with a show at Red Bank, N.J.’s Triumph Brewing on June 23.
After a final solo performance during Atlantic City, N.J.’s Peach at The Beach on July 13, DJ Logic will enter a dizzying 33-stop run across the U.S. Supporting Rockville, Md. rock giants O.A.R., the artist will collaborate onstage with the band’s other openers, first with dynamic pop group Fitz & The Tantrums and later alongside funk-pop ensemble Ripe. This tour will bring the team to such esteemed venues as the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Aug. 8 and Morrison, Colo.’s Red Rocks Amphitheater on Aug. 18. DJ Logic’s jam-packed summer will come to a close with a final performance on Sept. 5 at the Starlight Theater in Kansas City, Mo.
