Circles Around the Sun has announced a new self-titled album, due out on Mar. 13, 2020. The seven-track album will feature the final recordings of founding member and guitarist Neal Casal, who sadly took his own life in August.

In addition to the new album, the band also announced the “12 Days of CATS,” a series of socials media posts beginning on Dec. 14 that will lead up to the unveiling of the first single and video from the album.

Circles Around the Sun will continue to perform; the band has stated that they will not find a permanent replacement for the late Casal; rather, they will have a rotation of different guitarists fill the role.

“We love this music. The three of us—Dan, Mark, and myself—we really love it and really don’t want to stop playing it,” said keyboardist Adam MacDougall via press release. “I don’t want our decision to come off in any other way than based on the fact we really, really love this band so much.

According to a press release, a 2020 U.S. tour in support of the album is in the works. The band is also about to embark on a three-show New Year’s Eve run in Colorado with guitarist Scott Metzger. Additionally, the band has announced a series of destination shows in 2020, including Jam Cruise, Playin’ in the Sand and Skull & Roses.
