On Friday and Saturday, Umphrey’s McGee continued their three-night stand at the Pink Creek Lodge in Livingston, MT. As previously reported, the band which is still performing without guitarist Jake Cinninger, opened the Montana run by revisiting two older covers. Thursday’s show featured the first versions of the Talking Heads’ “Burning Down the House” since 4/20/12 and Eddie Money’s “Two Tickets to Paradise” since 9/20/19.
The Friday gig found the band debuting a new cover. At the close of the first set, Umphrey’s performed Steely Dan’s “Dirty Work.” The group has previously interpreted multiple Steely Dan tunes. Prior to Friday, the most recent was a version of “Hey Nineteen” with Nick Cassarino on 2/26/26. In addition, the group has played “Reelin’ in the Years” “Peg” “Kid Charlemagne” and “Show Biz Kids.”
On Saturday, Umphrey’s performed its first-ever take on “Longview.” This was Green Day’s first single on the trio’s 1994 major label debut Dookie. The show also included Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing,” last performed on 4/5/08. In addition, the band revisited its own original. “You & You Alone.” This song made its initial appearance on 1/14/18 and has surfaced intermittently over the years, previously on 2/1/24.
Umphrey’s McGee is off until Thursday when the moe.mentUM tour opens in Harrisburg, PA.
