Carlos Santana has announced an extended batch of North American tour dates for this summer, which will see the legendary guitarist celebrating the anniversaries of two career milestones: his iconic performance at Woodstock 50 years ago and his landmark 1999 album, Supernatural.

The 29-date tour, which will also feature The Doobie Brothers, will kick off June 22 in Phoenix, AZ, and will hit venues in Los Angeles, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver, Dallas, St. Louis, Chicago, Toronto, Indianapolis, Detroit, Washington DC, Boston and more throughout the months of June, July and August, wrapping up August 25 in Wantagh, NY.

“I believe in honoring Supernatural and Woodstock in a way that is yesterday, today and tomorrow,” Santana tells Relix. “We have a lot of music for tomorrow as well.”

The guitarist recalls his experience making Supernatural, saying that it was an “honor” to work with a younger generation of artists for the tracks, like Rob Thomas, Dave Matthews, Lauryn Hill and others. He also notes that he had a vision before the album, when an apparition told him, “They’re going to put you back on the radio like you haven’t been before, and every time you receive a reward or anything, just say, ‘Kadoish, Kadoish, Kadoish Adonai ‘Tsebayoth’—Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God of Hosts.”

Santana and his band will also make a stop in Darien Center, NY, on August 16 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Woodstock. Though no lineups for the two official celebrations of that legendary festival (one from Live Nation, the other from original Woodstock organizer Michael Lang), the guitarist notes that he’s open to playing them along with his own concert, which may even include some surprise guests.

“For Woodstock, we’re trying to connect as much as possible to honoring and respecting Michael Lang,” Santana explains. “But he was having trouble with the location or the sponsors or whatever, so what I plan to do for Woodstock is to have Santana be the house band and to invite some of the original members and also Joan Baez or members from the Grateful Dead who are here still to honor that day with that particular instrumentation of spirits and souls at that frequency. I’m going to send out invitations, and those who show up will play.

“We’ve been trying to do this thing for the past 10 years, especially for the past four years,” he continues. “However, I’m not trying to do anything other than say, ‘This has to be tangible—where and when.’ But, I couldn’t wait. So I booked myself just in case. If Michael books it and we can still do it, I will gladly show up and be there, but at the same time I can’t wait for a ‘maybe.'”
