moe. celebrated moe. day in the city of Albany, NY with a performance at the Palace Theatre last night. It was an eventful few hours for the Buffalo, NY-bred group–N. Pearl Street outside the venue was temporarily renamed moe.street in their honor before the show, and the members of the group posed with a sign outside the Palace.

At the end of moe.’s first set, guitarist Suke Cerulo also emerged to join the band for a take on “McBain.” Cerulo–who subbed for Chuck Garvey on the road with moe. after he suffered his recent stroke–also played a late-night show at Empire Underground with other members of Schleigho and Conehead Buddha last night.

moe. returns to the Palace this evening. It will be their 18th appearance at the venue, including a virtual performance from the venue’s lobby during the pandemic. Their first performance at the elegant theater was on February 23, 1996 as part of a “Rock the Vote” show. The city of Albany officially proclaimed February 24 moe. day in 2018.
