This evening, husband-and-wife duo Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, known for their blues-tinged Southern brand of rock and roll, will take part in CMA Country Christmas. The televised event will air on ABC at 9 p.m. and will be available on streaming apps, Disney+ and Hulu, starting Wednesday, December 3.
The yuletide occasion will be hosted by Lauren Daigle and Jordan Davis, who will each give their own musical performances drawing on the Christmas canon. During Daigle’s projected three-part holiday medley [“Jingle Bells,” “What Child Is This,” and “Winter Wonderland”], New Orleans’ natives the Preservation Hall Jazz Band will serve as accompaniment.
As for Trucks and Tedeschi’s part, they will welcome support from Winans, the Grammy-winning Motor City gospel singers, to deliver the timeless Christmas carol, “Children, Go Where I Send Thee.”
