With holiday season now officially in full swing, a number of annual benefit concerts have confirmed their initial lineups. One of those shows is The Sounding Joy: A Holiday Concert to Benefit The Washbourne House, which will be held at Levon Helm Studios outside Woodstock, NY on Saturday, December 20. This year’s festivities will once again bring together a mix of Upstate New York musicians, including Marco Benevento, Gail Ann Dorsey, Natalie Earls, Reggie Earls, Amy Helm, Bonny Light Horseman’s Josh Kaufman, Natalie Merchant and Kate Pierson. A note on the event explains, “A Levon Helm Studios annual tradition in it’s 13th year, The Sounding Joy brings together the Woodstock community and beyond to make a joyful noise and celebrate the season, and to raise funds for the Washbourne House, our local shelter for survivors of domestic violence and their children.” Additional performers will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

The next Helm Family Midnight Ramble will take place at Levon’s famed Barn on December 6. Midnight Ramble ft. The Sirens of Brooklyn are slated to appear. The event also promises spots by Garry Tallent, Yola, Jimmy Vivino, Young The Giant and Marc Ribler with members of Little Stevens Disciples of Soul, The Smithereens and The Harry Chapin Band.
