On Sunday, June 29, Rod Stewart greeted a horde of fans at Pilton, England’s Worthy Farm for his highly anticipated set at the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. Stewart’s performance saw the rock and pop global superstar reviving the highlights of his six-decade reign, spanning from his roots in London’s ‘60s blues rock explosion, through his disco heyday, to his current focus on honoring the classics that inspired him. To support his glance back at his catalog, Stewart welcomed a sit-in from Ronnie Wood, who joined his Faces bandmate for an exhilarating revival of “Stay with Me.”

Stewart’s live reunion with Wood arrived at the end of his 21-track set in the prestigious Legends Slot–an honor shared with the likes of Al Green, James Brown, Willie Nelson and Brian Wilson–and marked the duo’s first collaboration since they joined forces for the 2020 BRIT Awards. Like in their last meeting, Stewart and Wood tore through a titanic treatment of “Stay with Me,” the Faces’ first and biggest hit single, which they co-wrote for the supergroup’s 1971 record A Nod Is As Good As a Wink… to a Blind Horse. “C’mon Ronnie, let’s remember the old days,” Stewart teased to preface the track.

Following the song and the crowd’s roaring response, Wood remained onstage to add guitar to Stewart’s “Hot Legs,” which featured additional vocals from Scottish signer-songwriter Lulu. Earlier in his performance, Stewart welcomed a guest spot from Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall, who bolstered a cover of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes’ “If You Don’t Know Me By Now.” Other highlights from the set included originals like “Maggie May,” “Forever Young” and “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?,” plus covers of Etta James’ “I’d Rather Go Blind” and Crazy Horse’s “I Don’t Want to Talk About It.”

Stewart first alluded to the reunion with his longtime friend and collaborator in May, when he told That Peter Crouch Podcast, “With Woodie, I do [keep in touch] a lot, just recently, because we’re going to do Glastonbury together.” Their shared spotlight once again sparked fervor for a rumored Faces reunion album, which would be their first new recording since 1973’s Ooh La La.
