ALO spent the weekend in Colorado, where the California-bred group welcomed several guests. On Friday, the quartet performed at Denver’s Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom. Cris Jacobs Band, supplied support duties and, during ALO’s second set, Jacobs emerged to sing and play guitar on a version of Michael McDonald’s “I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near)” that dipped into the ’90s hip-hop classic “Regulate” by Warren G and Nate Dogg. ALO, who are celebrating the release of their new album Frames, also welcomed a horn section at the end of their set from a run from “Try” into “Undertow” as well as “Lady Loop.”

Then, on Saturday, the party moved over to Boulder, CO’s Fox Theatre. Plain Faraday opened and, during ALO’s second set, The String Cheese Incident bassist Keith Moseley emerged for a version of “Falling Dominoes.” ALO will kick off their spring tour at Wilmington, NC’s Greenfield Lake Amphitheater on April 23.
