Hot off the heels of The Disco Biscuits album announcement, Revolution in Motion, the band has followed up by tacking on a live show that will occur in tandem with the official LP drop on March 29, 2024. The impending event has been billed as an Album Release Show and will take place at New York’s Webster Hall, representing their first gig at the venue since 1998.

The Disco Biscuits previewed their highly anticipated ninth full-length album on Friday, Jan. 19, by releasing “Revolution in Motion, Pt. 1,” the first of four parts comprising the collection. Four previously released songs were included, which serve as the first renderings of the ensemble’s Space Opera story–outside of test runs on the road.

Revolution in Motion was contrived by guitarist and lead vocalist Jon Barber, who worked alongside collaborator and friend Joey Friedman in August 2021. By the start of the following year, they began writing songs with the help of band member Aron Magnor, described as “music aliens would love.”

“With a large part of the space opera taking place in New York City, we thought it wasonly appropriate to play a show there on the day of its release. After our late-night rager at the Palladium over our New Year’s run in 2023, we can’t wait to get back to NYC and tell this story from start to finish,” Magnor offered via press release.

Friedman added, “The Biscuits’ fans have been loving these songs for over a year, and while some have been able to figure out the underlying story, we think they will gain a whole new appreciation for these songs once they learn all the layers to the narrative and the depth of the characters.”

The Album Release Show will go on sale to the public on Friday, January 26 at noon E.T. An Artist Presale will begin on Wednesday, January 24 at noon E.T. with the password: RevolutionInMotion. Visit www.discobiscuits.com for more information.
