This weekend, Daniel Donato dished out Cosmic Country in the New York Tri-state area and Boston, gracing the states of Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, N.J., Brooklyn Bowl in New York, and The Sinclair in Cambridge, Mass.

Each of the evenings saw vividly bright psychedelic country: The first performance, at Wonder Bar, was further enlivened by hometown hero Danny Clinch, who joined for “Why You Been Gone So Long” and “Got My Mojo Workin’,” while the sold-out evening in New York saw a surprise appearance from Scott Metzger, a masterful improvisational guitarist known for his work in Joe Russo’s Almost Dead. Metzger seamlessly blended with the band during the latter part of the first set, contributing exhilarating solos to tracks like “Half Moon Night” and a rendition of Willie Nelson’s “Devil in a Sleeping Bag.”

After the show, Donato expressed his gratitude on social media, reflecting on the special night they shared with friends. He mused on the transient nature of our existence and the power of love and truth in shaping reality. “We sold out the Brooklyn Bowl Last night’s experience won’t ever die,” Donato wrote. “Love and truth inform and create these fleeting shadow realities of space and time, and through the cycles and states of these domains, we celebrate, dance, and rejoice in all the Moment has for us. My heart is full for eons. Thank you for celebrating with us!”

Donato concluded his statement by sharing that the excitement wouldn’t end in Brooklyn, as they looked forward to their upcoming show in Massachusetts, which he made good on last night.
