Last night, lightning and torrential downpours forced Phish fans to shelter in their vehicles ahead of the Vermont quartet’s concert at the Pine Knob Music Amphitheatre in Clarkston, Mich. After the storm passed and Phish was cleared to play, they announced on Twitter that the doors would open at 8 p.m., the show will begin as soon as possible and that the evening would not see a set break.

Phish opened with “I Never Needed You Like This Before” and kept the setlist contemporary with “Everything’s Right,” which clocked in at 17 minutes. Next came a lively and fast jam of “Kill Devil Falls,” which was unfinished and morphed into the cosmic “Camel Walk.” They continued with “Stash,” which allowed the crowd a bit of breathing room before a fast-paced and energetic “Bouncing Around the Room.”

Phish continued the one-set show with “My Friend, My Friend,” which did not have its final lyric, “Myfe” which flowed into likely would be set closer “David Bowie.” Next came “Carini,” which felt lighter in tone than usual iterations and “No Men In No Man’s Land.” The stretched-out renditions arrived at the penultimate “Twist” and set closer, “Drift While You’re Sleeping.”

Phish returned to the stage after a brief break for “Bug,” which Trey Anastasio dedicated to his Grand Rapids singing partner and super fan Jovi Crusen–who was in attendance–and followed up “Possum.”

Phish will perform next this Friday, Aug. 5, kicking off their three-night stint at Atlantic City Beach in Atlantic City, N.J. Stream the shows on LivePhish.com.

Set I: I Never Needed You Like This Before, Everything’s Right, Kill Devil Falls[1] > Camel Walk, Stash, Bouncing Around the Room, My Friend, My Friend[2] > David Bowie, Carini > No Men In No Man’s Land -> Twist, Drift While You’re Sleeping

Enc.: Bug > Possum

[1] Unfinished.
[2] No “Myfe” ending.

Kill Devil Falls was unfinished. My Friend’s ending did not contain the “Myfe” lyric. Trey teased Freeway Jam in Kill Devil Falls. Carini contained a full-band tease of Low Rider. Due to the combination of an extended delay to the start of the show from lightning and a curfew for the venue, setbreak was canceled. Trey dedicated Bug to Jovi who was in attendance and had previously joined him on stage to sing the song earlier in the year during his solo acoustic performance in Grand Rapids.
