The Telluride Bluegrass Festival opened its 53rd installment yesterday in Town Park. The event will continue through the weekend, with multiple performances locales and numerous sit-ins likely in the offing. Nugs is also on site delivering livestreams every day.

On Thursday, the mighty Tedeschi Trucks Band closed out the main stage. The group dove into their set with a cover of “Got My Mojo Workin’,” followed by the “Crazy Cryin’” from the group’s latest album Future Soul. A few songs later in the set, the TTB welcomed Sam Bush onto the stage. Bush is a festival staple, who was officially proclaimed “King of Telluride” by the mayor in 2024. Bush appeared with the group for two Eric Clapton tunes from Derek & the Dominos’ Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs album: “Bell Bottom Blues” and “Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad?” The group’s encore later offered a nod to other celebrated British artists, as it moved from the Rolling Stones’ “Loving Cup” into The Beatles “With a Little Help From My Friends.”

Music continues today at Town Park, with the following artists confirmed for the Nugs stream:

Friday, June 19: Greensky Bluegrass, Shakey Graves, Leftover Salmon, Jake Shimabukuro, and East Nash Grass.

Saturday, June 20: Punch Brothers and Clay Street Unit.

Sunday, June 21: Flatland Cavalry, The Infamous Stringdusters, and Sierra Hull.
