Judy Collins has announced the initial details for what is being billed as her final tour. Slated to span from July through the spring of 2027, the “Sweet Judy Blue Eyes” Farewell Tour will boast over 50 dates, including return trips to some venues long associated with the now 87-year-old folk singer. Along the way, a cross-generational mix of acts, including Amanda Shires, Richard Thompson and Elles Bailey will join Collins on select dates.
“Touring has been the great thread of my life—city to city, song to song, face to face,” Collins said in a statement. “The audiences have carried me for decades, and I’ve never stopped being moved by what can happen in a room when we truly listen to one another. This tour is my way of saying thank you—out loud, together.”
One highlight taking place near the start of the run is an afternoon show at Lenox, MA’s Tanglewood on August 30 that will also feature Roseanne Cash, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Amanda Shires. Collins will also take part in a Fourth of July concert that will be broadcast live on PBS, PBS.org and the PBS app. Billed as America Made In Virginia: 250 Years Together, the celebration will air on July 4 at 8 PM ET, live from the historic Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia. Tony winner Michael Feinstein, three-time Grammy winner Ryan Speedo Green, Tony winner Kelli O’Hara and Tony winner Adrienne Warren will all take part in the event, which will also include a special greeting from documentary filmmaker Ken Burns.
Looking ahead, the Manhattan-based Collins will return to New York’s Town Hall, where she recorded her famed The Judy Collins Concert live album in 1964, on March 20. Several special guests are expected to join Collins for the homecoming show. Collins will add additional dates to her farewell tour in the coming months
