Dead & Company kicked off the late-summer leg of their U.S. tour on Sept. 10, performing plenty of fan favorites as well as an emotional “The Weight” encore.
Set one kicked off with plenty of energy – namely, the one-two punch of “Hell In a Bucket” and “Alabama Getaway.”
Elsewhere in the first half, Deadheads were pleased to hear the classic “Friend of the Devil,” The Beatles “Dear Prudence” and a closing “Don’t Ease Me In.”
After setbreak, the band hit their stride with a second set “Comes A Time” with bassist Oteil Burbridge on lead vocals, as well as a mind-bending, almost set-long segment of “Estimated Prophet”> “China Cat Sunflower”> “I Know You Rider”> “Drums”> “Space”> “I Need a Miracle”> “Black Peter”> “Casey Jones.”
Wrote the band after the gig, “Thank you all for a glorious night at Pine Knob! We’ll see you all tomorrow night in Cincinnati. Travel safe everyone.”

September 12, 2021 at 4:57 pm$happy likely not allowing the interns to expense the cost of the livestream so someone can watch it. It can’t figure out to make a buck off Bobby like he’s manipulated Phil for all these years.

September 11, 2021 at 11:22 amHaha. Deal was smoking. I cant believe the weight was the “highlight”. And I try to be objective. The song selection is still limited. Thank God the songs are not…

September 11, 2021 at 10:00 pmThey don’t seem to be spending much energy covering this tour for some reason. The boys played an absolute smoker on Tuesday at Blossom, and they didn’t even do a write up on that one.

September 11, 2021 at 11:08 amWhy was the second set “mind-bending” and the encore “emotional” ? Please elaborate. Basic writing/journalism, no?
