The Americana Music Association has announced its lifetime achievement awards recipients for its 2021 Americana Honors ceremonies.

The ceremonies, which will take place in Nashville, will honor a solo artist, a band, an engineer, and a vocal choir for each of its Lifetime Achievement Awards. Legendary blues guitarist and Nashville mainstay Keb’ Mo’ has won the “Performance Award,” the country-Latin-electronic band the Mavericks have won the “Trailblazer Award,” Trina Shoemaker has won the engineer lifetime award for her work in production. This year, the vocal choir that will be lauded are Fisk University’s Fisk Jubilee Singers, who will receive “The Legacy Award.”

The Americana Honors & Awards will kick off AmericanaFest, a music conference and festival. This year over 230 artists are scheduled to perform at venues around Nashville, including Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Allison Russell, Langhorne Slim, Kelsey Waldon, Joshua Ray Walker, Kathleen Edwards, Dave Hause, Rodney Crowell, Ida Mae, Jackson + Sellers, Jillette Johnson, Michaela Anne, Miko Marks, Sierra Ferrell and more.

The Lifetime Achievement winners will be honored on Sept. 22 at the Ryman Auditorium.
