Prine on the cover of 1973’s ‘Sweet Revenge’

The family of the late John Prine has announced a series of tribute concerts dedicated to the late singer-songwriter, who passed away in April of 2020 from COVID-19. The shows will kick off on Oct. 3 and run through Oct. 10, which would have been Prine’s 75th birthday. Each of them will take place in Nashville, Tenn.

The shows will be held at The Ryman Auditorium on Oct. 6 and 7, the CMA Theater at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum on Oct 8 and a show at the Basement East on Oct. 9, with additional shows to be announced.

According to a description of the events, “each of these shows will include a unique surprise line-up of friends performing and celebrating John’s inimitable life and songs.

Proceeds from the events will go toward The Hello In There Foundation, a newly created nonprofit that “aims to identify and collaborate with individuals and communities where people of all ages are marginalized, discriminated against or, for any reason, are otherwise forgotten,” according to the website.

Tickets for the shows go on sale on May 28, with a presale beginning May 26. For more information and to purchase, click here.
