moe. performed the final show of their socially-distanced fall tour on Saturday, Nov. 7. The show, which took place at Showtime At The Drive In in Frederick, Md., began just a few hours after national media outlets called the presidential election in favor of Joe Biden. The band was quick on their feet, changing several lyrics throughout the show to reference Biden’s victory.
The band began the show with a fitting “Captain America,” followed by “Mexico.” Next, moe. opted for a bustout of “The Pines and the Apple Trees,” the first performance of the song since Apr. 14, 2016. The first lyric change occurred later in the set during “Down Boy;” the band changed the lyrics from “six years time” and “it was six too long” to “four years time” and “it was four too long.” The set closed with another fitting selection, “New Hope for The New Year.”
The second set kicked off with “Screaming & Kicking,” which transition into “Waiting for the Punchline.” The latter song featured another lyric change, with any references to “Peter Jennings” changed to “Steve Kornacki,” MSNBC’s election map guru. After “Along For The Ride,” moe. jammed through a massive three-song sequence of “Tailspin,” “Meat” and “Don’t Fuck With Flo.” That final song featured the final lyric changes of the evening, with “Don’t Fuck With Flo” changed to “Don’t Fuck With Joe.” In addition, the line “it was a stone groove, my man” was changed to “it was a rigged election, my man.” The rendition also featured a short “Runnin’ With The Devil” jam to honor the late Eddie Van Halen. The band opted for “Seat of my Pants” as the encore, which was abbreviated as they ran into the venue’s curfew.

November 9, 2020 at 7:02 pmBro, you know how it goes with the dems. It’s “DO AS I SAY PEASANT!!!” not “do as I do”. Double standard.
Green New Deal
November 9, 2020 at 3:24 pmIn my life of almost 50 yrs I’ve been to more shows and multi – day music festivals that I can remember. On many occasions, like in the case of the Mountain Jam festivals, I was taken back by the volume of garbage left behind on Monday morning. In the arena and theatre venues I’ve long thought about the electricity consumed, and what it took to heat or cool the venue. What about all the vehicles that traveled to it. What about the carbon footprint tour busses and the tractor trailers full of gear create. It has such a negative impact on the planet. So, if we’re serious about the Green New Deal, musicians and fans alike should adhere to a 1 concert per yr policy. All other shows should be virtual. This will ensure we have done our part to save the planet. Furthermore, there should be a 25% tax add to tickets sales, and a 25% performance tax added to the bands corporation for each performance. The additional revenue should then be set aside for the development of new solar, wind, and non fossil fuel technologies. We must all do our part to save this magnificent planet. I hope the Biden administration will behind this.
