For this week’s edition of All The Years Live, Grateful Dead HQ has dipped into the band’s October 1974 stop at San Francisco’s Winterland – as made famous in the Grateful Dead Movie – with a pro-shot “Scarlet Begonias.”

Explains GD archivist/legacy manager David Lemieux, “When we were working on selecting the Bonus Material for the Grateful Dead Movie DVD, we looked at Jerry’s long list of songs that he considered including in the original movie, and this ‘Scarlet Begonias was one of them.’ It features some wonderful vocal improvisation by Donna Jean during the instrumental section at the end of the song.”

Lemieux and company have previously highlighted the “Truckin'” and the “Uncle John’s Band” from this same show.
