For this week’s edition of the Grateful Dead’s “All The Years Live” video series, we’re headed back to October ’74 for a high-energy “Truckin’,” shot live at San Francisco’s Winterland.
Many fans may recognize this rendition from The Grateful Dead Movie, featuring the band’s historic Wall of Sound stage setup and candid shots of Deadheads in their prime.
Explains GD legacy manager/archivist David Lemieux, “From the penultimate show before the Dead’s nearly two year touring hiatus, this version of ‘Truckin” was a highlight of The Grateful Dead Movie, for both its strong performance with its climactic, explosive ending, but also for the wonderful fan and Dead Head scene intercuts throughout. A top notch rendition.”
