Big Freedia, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and River Whyless are among the 75 additions to the AVL Sounds Fest. As we reported earlier, the event–which is presented by Worthwhile Sounds and Wicked Weed Brewing–will take place throughout the city from August 6-9, 2026.
Previously confirmed acts include: Dr. Dog, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Grace Bowers, Improvement Movement, Tyler Ramsey & Carl Broemel (of My Morning Jacket), Toubab Krewe, Sir Woman, Young Gun Silver Fox and Eric Slick. Dr Dog’s set is currently their only currently announced 2026 appearance.
In total, AVL Sounds Fest will present sets at over 15 indoor and outdoor venues throughout Asheville, including landmarks like The Orange Peel, The Grey Eagle and Asheville Music Hall, as well as newcomers like Hellbender, Asheville Yards, Revival and The Mule.
A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to WNC Long Haul – Recovery and Resilience Fund, a donor-advised fund through the Community Foundation of WNC, which provides resources post-Hurricane Helene. The fund was set up to “meet the evolving needs of the community at critical junctions at each phase of recovery.”
The full lineup of more than 150 performers and tickets are available at avlsoundsfest.com.
