Tame Impala – aka Kevin Parker – descended upon San Diego on Monday night, kicking off a massive, worldwide tour in support of his most recent release The Slow Rush.

A number of tunes off the record made their live debut at the West Coast show, from the opening “One More Year” to “Reality in Motion” and “Posthumous Forgiveness.”

After the Innerspeaker cut “Alter Ego,” Parker busted out his first-ever cover of Lady Gaga’s “Perfect Illusion,” a song Parker co-wrote and co-produced with the pop star. (Parker even makes a cameo in the “Perfect Illusion” music video.)

Parker continued the setlist antics with the following “Expectation,” last heard live in August 2012.

Other highlights from the single-set show included additional The Slow Rush debuts like “Past Lige,” “Is It True” and “Glimmer.”

Tame Impala’s hit “Let It Happen” ended the show, followed by a two-part encore of “The Less I Know the Better” and “Eventually.”
