After sharing “Tweezer” and “Bathtub Gin,” Phish have finally released part of their clone-themed New Year’s gag from Madison Square Garden in stunning HD video.

The Dec. 31 performance spans the band’s a capella debut of “Send in the Clowns” (changed to “Clones”) as well as “First Tube,” “Auld Lang Syne,” and “Sand.”

Around the 21-minute mark you can also see the band’s self-proclaimed Spinal Tap moment when guitarist Trey Anastasio’s platform gets stuck in mid-air, forcing a significant delay in the show, as production crews scrambled to diagnose the problem.

“Well if I guess I’m about to fall to my death, I might as well tell you guys all how much I love you,” Anastasio tells the crowd with a laugh. “So much! Thank you for all the good times. At least this is going to be one of the great rock and roll deaths.”

“I think you’ll just get maimed from there,” drummer Jon Fishman jumps in, before later telling his bandmate (and nodding to a Kasvot Växt tune), “…Don’t worry, ‘Death Don’t Hurt Very Long.'”

Part two of Phish’s New Year’s gag should be shared via YouTube in the next few days. The quartet’s next scheduled gig, however, is their Mexican getaway from Feb. 20-23, 2020.
