Perhaps the most talked about musical moment from Phish’s recent New Year’s run was their 35-minute “Tweezer” from Dec. 30.

Kicking off their second set at Madison Square Garden, this memorable tune marked the band’s jam ever at the historic venue and their fifth longest “Tweezer” in history.

As described by Jambands.com writer Jake May, “during this “Tweezer,” Phish’s mastery of improvisational rock was on full display. They weaved between sections with ease, with each band member taking the lead at different times. They modulated to the key of E, moved back and forth between major and minor modes and, in real time, composed stunning musical themes with ease.”
