G. Love will release his new studio album, The Juice, Jan. 17 via Philadelphonic/Thirty Tigers, and today the frontman shared an animated video from the Keb’ Mo’-produced effort.
The video, which can be viewed below, animates G. Love in a classic style and frames his song’s message—which a press release calls “hopeful protest…that acts as a rallying cry for those who are fighting for equality”—in the context of a political rally, with an appearance from an animated Marcus King, who takes a searing guitar solo in the tune.
“I wrote this song as a personal knee jerk reaction to the frustration I feel towards the policies which the current right wing administration is pushing forward,” G. Love says. “I also wanted to give strength, support, empathy and energy to the protest kids and activists who are in the trenches fighting to uphold liberal progress.”
G. Love will tour next year in support of The Juice, with dates kicking off Jan. 7 in Des Moines, IA, and continuing around the eastern half of the country into February.
