The summer 2026 moe.mentUM Tour opened in Harrisburg, PA on June 11. Since then each evening has offered a set from moe. and Umphrey’s McGee followed by collaborative performance at the end of the night. The Northeast leg will conclude this evening at ParkStage in Freehold, NJ, then the two groups will reconvene on in Manteo, NC at Roanoke Island Festival Park on July 9 to begin another series of dates.
On Thursday at College Street Music Hall in New Haven, Umphrey’s opened the night, followed by moe. Then the encore began with the members of UM on stage performing their original “Piranhas,” joined by Al Schnier on guitar and Jim Loughlin on percussion. Schnier and Loughlin remained, with guitarist Chuck Garvey, keyboard player Nate Wilson and drummer Vinnie Amico appearing on moe’s “Don’t Fuck with Flo,” marking the first time that Umphrey’s has played the song. Finally, this assemblage was joined by Emma Derhak for a cover of Steely Dan’s “Reelin’ in the Years,” a song that’s in the live repertoire of both groups.
Friday’s collaborative encore at Perinton Center Park Amphitheater in Fairport, NY featured two songs. Once again, Umphrey’s appeared first, then later anchored the concluding sequence, during which Schnier and Loughlin joined the band. The seven musicians (with guitarist jake Cinninger still off the road) played UM’s “The Linear” which segued into Pearl Jam’s “Corduroy.”
Last night the evening unfolded in a manner akin to the prior two, with Umphrey’s McGee supplying the core band for the final sequence. They were joined by Garvey, Wilson and Loughlin for UM’s “Hajimemashite.” Then Schnier and Amico emerged, with bassist Rob Derhak who replaced Ryan Stasik during moe.’s “Shoot First,” the first time Umphrey’s has performed the song. Finally, this formation remained in place for a cover of Les Zeppelin’s “No Quarter,” another cover common to both groups.
Tonight it’s on to ParkStage, where Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and Lotus will also appear. Doors are at 2, with Lotus opening the night at 4, Pigeons at 5:15, Umphrey’s at 6:30, moe. at 8:15 and a jam with members of all four groups slated for 9:30-10:00.
