Sept. 11 marked Eric Clapton’s first return to San Francisco since 2011 and, to mark the occasion, Slowhand pulled out all the stops for his gig at the Chase Center, welcoming guitar maestro Carlos Santana onstage for a special cover.
After Clapton closed the show with a high-energy “Layla,” he invited Santana out to jam on Joe Cocker’s “High Time We Went.”
Santana was clearly excited to be there, dancing along with Clapton’s riffs before supplying some of his own.

September 13, 2019 at 1:48 pmExcellent ! Santana was delighted to be there. And thanks Eric Clapton its in better health condition so he can tour. I strongly recommend Santana s´autobiographical book to all. The best way to read it, is to hear a track or two every time he mentions a song or the name of his source of inspiration.

September 12, 2019 at 6:46 pmEric played well last night at the Chase center. Nice new arena but the sound is very muddy. I was disappointed. Also not really all that loud except for a few moments. We had great seats behind the soundboard, normally the sound is great there in arenas. Maybe they have some work to do on tuning up their sound system. Visuals were not very good either.
Disappointed
September 12, 2019 at 10:44 pm100% agree. The sound was not great. And, if I’m being honest, Eric was bit lackluster himself. Gave up too many solos. Nobody came to see the other guitarist (not Carlos, but the other dude in the band).
