On February 7, Brooklyn Bowl will host a special benefit and tribute concert celebrating the legacy and music of Grateful Dead lyricist, author and activist John Perry Barlow and his longtime collaborator Bob Weir.

Set to perform at the event, dubbed The Songs of Barlow & Weir, are a quartet of Terrapin Family Band members—multi-instrumentalist Jason Crosby, guitarists Grahame Lesh and Ross James, and drummer Alex Koford—plus former Talking Heads keyboardist/guitarist Jerry Harrison and his daughter Aishlin, guitarist Josh Kaufman, vocalist Elliott Peck, San Francisco Giants pitcher and musician Jake Peavy, singer-songwriter Rachel Ana Dobken and more. The Songs of Barlow & Weir will follow up the venue’s 2016 Songs of Barlow event, which helped raise money for Barlow’s medical fund. The songwriter later passed away on February 7, 2018. Next month, on the anniversary of Barlow’s death, the 2019 iteration of the event will raise money for the Freedom of the Press Foundation, which Barlow co-founded.
