Deer Tick drummer Dennis Ryan will sit out a few of his band’s shows early next week. Ryan is taking a few days off due to the passing of his uncle, Dr. Steven Ryan. He will miss shows at St. Louis, MO’s The Firebird (5/6) and Chicago’s City Winery Chicago (5/7-8). Deer Tick will perform at Memphis, TN’s Beale Street Music Festival on Sunday. The band is working on a new studio album with Los Lobos multi-instrumentalist Steve Berlin.
