A number of artists we cover regularly on the site have donated their time and services to Bette Midler’s New York Restoration Project. Midler founded the non-profit to clean and green New York City. So far the organization has turned 55 vacant lots into community gardens and planted more than 250,000 trees. Midler is currently auctioning off a number of unique experiencing through Charity Folks. Highlights include: a tennis lesson with John McEnroe, a walk-on role with Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, lunch with Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner, a getaway to Richard Branson’s Necker Island and a chance to meet John Mayer. A bit closer to home, the Restoration Project is also auctioning off Dave Matthews Band 2010 tickets, signed Umphrey’s McGee swag and even a chance to bike ride through the streets of Brooklyn with Matisyahu.
