Earlier in the week we reported that celebrated Afrobeat artist Femi Kuti would be rescheduling the first week of dates on his current tour. Now it turns out that none of the shows will take place and ticket holders are encouraged to pursue refunds from their places of purchase. A statement on Kuti’s MySpace page explains that ‘due to illness, Femi Kuti’s January US and Canadian tour has been cancelled in its entirety.’ However, the site also notes that ‘a comprehensive US and Canadian summer tour will be announced shortly.’ Late last year the Nigerian artist released Day By Day, his first studio release in seven years.
