While The Big Wu announced late last year that it would forgo active touring for the immediate future, the band never said it would stop gigging altogether. As a result, the classic incarnation of the group will return to a familiar setting this weekend. During the Big Wus formative years the band performed weekly gigs at the Cabooze in Minneapolis. On Saturday night the Wu will return to the venue for a show in which it will be joined again by co-founder and current God Johnson guitarist Jason Fladager. No other dates have been confirmed although the band has stated that it may well land on a summer festival bill or two.
