On Wednesday at Boston’s Avalon, The New Deal’s Jamie Shields joined the Disco Biscuits halfway through the Biscuits’ first set for a version of ‘Story of the World.’ Later during the second set, Boston native (and Jambands.com news editor emeritus) Jeff Waful appeared during ‘Home Again’ dressed as Biscuits guitarist Jon Gutwillig for a ‘Bonus Barber Fakeout.’ At the Biscuits’ next show on November 28 at the Webster Theater the band devoted its first set to the fourth complete performance of its Chemical Warfare Brigade rock opera…….Gordon Stone added pedal steel guitar to much of Max Creek’s performance on Saturday night at Lupo’s in Providence. Stone recently spent some time on the road with Creek guitarist Scott Murawski as they both performed in Mike Gordon’s band. This show marks Max Creek’s final scheduled performance at this incarnation of the club which will relocate around the corner to the site of the Strand where it will be known as Lupo’s at the Strand…….moe. encored each of its two shows at New York’s Beacon Theatre in a holiday spirit with selections from its Seasons Greetings from moe. disc performing Rob Derhak’s original ‘Together at Christmas’ on Friday and then ‘Oh Hanukkah’ on Saturday….Phil Lesh’s son Grahame sat in for the Phil & Friends encore at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby , PA on Friday. Lesh joined his pops and the quintet on guitar and vocals for ‘Sugar Magnolia.’
