Leftover Salmons Vince Herman took the stage with ekoostik hookah during both of its shows at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park in Garrettsville, OH. On Saturday, Herman added vocals in the second set for Rollin in My Sweet Babys Arms, Dim Lights, Thick Smoke and Good Lovin. Friday he stepped in for covers of The New Riders of the Purple Sages Glendale Train and Bob Dylans Highway 61 Revisited.
On Friday, The Shantees drummer, Shane Frye, filled in on drums for hookahs Eric Lanese, who is recovering from a dirt bike accident that left him with a broken wrist. Saturday’s show featured Craig Kight of the Baier Cellar Band. Look for an in-depth interview with Lanese in the new issue of Jambands.com this week.
In other news, keyboardist Dave Katz has entered the studio to begin work on his solo debut, Autumn Day. It is due out later this fall.
