Bassist Bobby Vega has parted ways with the Steve Kimock Band. In a statement posted on his website, Kimock explains: I found Bobby’s decision to terminate his long-standing and mostly joyous and productive musical relationship with me, the band, crew and fans, in this fashion to be deeply disturbing and bizarre. A feeling I’m sure many of us, including Bobby, share. Bobby Vega quit with no notice. So be it. Nevertheless, I wish him the best in the future and hope he moves on to a better place. I hope the same for everyone involved. Goodbye for now Bobby Vega. We love you.
Bass player Leo Traversa performed with the band this past weekend at the High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, CA. Steve Kimock will perform at the Tamarack Festival July 20 22 in Bear Valley, CA. Kimock will sit in with various acts throughout the weekend. A permanent bass player for the Steve Kimock Band has not yet been announced.
