This month, it’s Deadhook. Here’s Brett Moody is talk about his site…
In the spirit of the Grateful Dead, Deadhook.com is an online community for Deadheads and jamband fans alike. Created to spread the music of the Grateful Dead, Deadhook has become a place for Deadheads around the world, to talk, trade tunes and meet new people, and has members from Japan to Ireland and all across the US.
Arguably the fastest growing online jamband community, Deadhook, still not 2 years young, boasts nearly 2 millions hits, 8,500 visits per day, over 1,000 registered members and countless hours of music exchanged.
Featuring tour dates, streaming audio, chat, setlists, Dead history, forums to trade music, meet local members, show gatherings and an extensive list of links, and much more, Deadhook is not only a family but also a terrific resource for GD and jamband fans. Deadhook has taken the idea of trading music and transformed it into usually just giving it away, and if there is a show you are looking for, chances are someone is more than willing to help you get it.
As a result of the extreme generosity and warmth and welcome that its members show new visitors, Deadhook has earned the reputation as the kindest place on the internet. Still on young legs, Deadhook is not likely the most active community on the internet, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in the kindness and generosity you would only get from a Deadhead!
