Mickey Hart led an impromptu jam Friday at RhythmFest in Quarry Park, OH. At the end of the show, Hart selected a dozen or so performers from the days line-up to participate in a percussion ensemble that include One-Eyed Jacks Katie Schmidt, Dr. Didj, members of the Sun Ra Arkestra, Badel Roy and others. Audience participation was encouraged and hundreds of fans joined in for more than an hour. The jam culminated with Not Fade Away. Playing with Mickey Hart was one of the greatest experiences of my career, said Schmidt. To be invited to play with such a world-renowned array of drummers and percussionists was both an honor and a privilege.
