Toubab Krewe currently is in Bamako, Mali. The former New Groove of the Month has spent much of January in Africa, crossing the globe to participate in the Festival of the Desert. There, in addition to his band’s own sets, Toubab Krewe bassist Dave Pransky appeared with Chris Berry, Michal Kang and the Pangea Project. The group has posted images of the trek (which began with a plane trip to Timbuktu and included a night out with Jimmy Buffett). The group’s next confirmed stateside appearance is on March 9 at Langerado.
